Paris Saint-Germain had a game to forget in the Champions League last night and Chelsea fans will be absolutely delighted with that.
Luis Enrique’s side were beaten 4-1 by Newcastle United and Manuel Ugarte, who Chelsea wanted to sign in the summer, featured in that loss at St James’ Park.
According to WhoScored, Ugarte has now been dribbled past more times than any other player in the Champions League this season.
PSG spent a lot of money on the 22-year-old, with The Athletic having reported that the French club triggered the £51.8m release clause he had in his contract at Sporting Lisbon.
Prior to his move to the Parc des Princes, Chelsea were extremely keen on him.

As per Sky Sports, the Blues did hold talks with Sporting over signing Ugarte during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea eventually moved on from Manuel Ugarte
Chelsea fans will not be too disappointed about missing out on Ugarte, especially with a stat like that one above.
The Blues went on to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to strengthen their midfield, so the likes of N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic were replaced in the end.
From Ugarte’s perspective, though, he may feel it was a bullet dodged, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side not doing too well at the moment.

Chelsea currently find themselves 11th in the Premier League, a position they will be hoping Caicedo can help get them out of.
The Blues would have liked for Lavia to play his part too, but the Belgian is still out injured.
