The Blues completed another of other sales and loan exits as time ran out on Monday, with Ben Chilwell being one of those who departed, joining Strasbourg on a permanent deal.

Ishe Samuels-Smith rejoins Chelsea five weeks after leaving for Strasbourg
On paper, the deal looked a bit confusing from the Ligue 1 side’s point of view, with it coming less than five weeks since Ishe Samuels-Smith had permanently departed the club to join the fellow BlueCo side.
Samuels-Smith was poised for a loan move to Swansea, and this did end up occurring, however it was not via Strasbourg.
As per the official Chelsea website, the youngster has moved to the Championship side, however after re-signing first for the Blues.
The deal had cost the Ligue 1 side £6.5m earlier in the transfer window, and it can be expected that he will have made the move back for a similar fee.
The left-back was involved in the matchday squad on a number of occasions last season, however is yet to make his first team debut.

Chelsea’s change of heart on Samuels-Smith
It came as a surprise to many that the Blues had decided to part ways with the youngster on a permanent basis, given how highly-rated he was at the academy.
Originally, it was planned for Samuels-Smith to go on loan, and now the club will be able to take a look at him in action in the Championship for Swansea.
His pathway to the first team squad has seen another obstacle added to it in the form of Jorrel Hato, who has joined Chelsea from Ajax.
He has been brought in to provide cover and competition for Marc Cucurella, and will be looking to be pushing for a place in the starting side in the coming months.
