Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella now faces being exiled after his failed move to Manchester United.
According to the Evening Standard, both Marc Cucurella and Trevoh Chalobah could be ostracised at Stamford Bridge.
As per the same outlet, the 25-year-old’s loan to United in the summer transfer window collapsed, leaving him in an unfavourable position at Chelsea.
Ben Chilwell has been Chelsea’s first-choice left-back since arriving at the club back in 2020 and while he is not playing there at the moment, Mauricio Pochettino has still left Cucurella on the bench.

Instead, the Argentine has been using Levi Colwill at left-back with Chilwell starting further ahead of him, showing just how far Cucurella is from his manager’s thinking right now.
Marc Cucurella unlikely to get game time at Chelsea this season
It would not be a surprise if Pochettino did start to leave Cucurella, who cost Chelsea around £60m, out of the matchday squad.
As already mentioned, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur boss has Chilwell and Colwill who can both play at left-back, while Ian Maatsen is also an option.
Cucurella really struggled at Chelsea in the previous season so was never going to come into this campaign as an automatic starter.

“I wasn’t happy with Cucurella right throughout that second half until he came off,” Jamie Carragher said when discussing one of the Spaniard’s performances on Sky Sports last term.
All in all, then, a loan move to United or another club could have been good for Cucurella, especially now with there being a possibility that he will not get used at all at Stamford Bridge.
A new environment could have perhaps helped the former Brighton man to rebuild his confidence.
