Chelsea may be able to sign one top centre-forward now or in the next summer transfer window.
This summer, Chelsea have signed Marc Guiu from Barcelona. However, Guiu is still only 18 and there is no guarantee that he will remain with the Blues’ first-team squad, who are currently in the United States for the club’s pre-season tour.
It means Chelsea could bring in another striker before the market closes. They have been linked with several names, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen could move to Saudi Arabia instead, which would be a blow for Chelsea, but he is not the only forward who they have considered.

Chelsea have good chance to sign Ivan Toney
Chelsea have looked at Ivan Toney, but whatever interest they had in him seems to have cooled.
However, if that changes and the Blues decide they want him in this summer transfer window or the next one, then a deal looks more than possible.
That is because the Brentford striker is unwilling to sign a new contract, according to journalist Nizaar Kinsella.
His existing deal runs out in 2025, meaning clubs can try and get Brentford to sell now or pick him up next year for potentially nothing.
GiveMeSport claimed last month that the Bees value the 28-year-old at £60m, so he does look available.
Chelsea should consider signing Ivan Toney on a free transfer next year
If Chelsea cannot land any of their current striker targets, then it may be worth them waiting until next summer and seeing if Toney does become available on a free transfer.
That could be such a good bit of business, with the England international proving to be one of the top strikers in the Premier League before his eight-month suspension.
In the 2022/23 season, only Harry Kane (30) and Erling Haaland (36) managed to score more goals than Toney (21).
The only problem is that the former Peterborough United man will be 29 by then. Are Chelsea’s owners going to want to sign someone his age? Based on their transfer policy at the club so far, probably not.
