Joe Cole wants Chelsea to think twice before selling one of their players before the transfer window closes.

Chelsea are open to letting Armando Broja go this month and are looking for around £35m for him, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

But Joe Cole has told football.london that the striker still has time to develop and has warned his former club not to do anything hasty.

Broja has made 19 appearances for Chelsea this season and scored two goals.

Fulham are thought to be one club who are interested in the Albania international, with journalist Simon Phillips claiming that they have already had one offer for him turned down by their west London rivals.

Joe Cole sends Chelsea Armando Broja message

Cole is confident that Broja can improve at Chelsea and is urging the club’s hierarchy to really think things through as he continues to attract interest.

On the Blues forward, the retired winger said: “I also think that Armando has got time to develop in a Chelsea shirt.

“He’s just come back from an injury, he’s not played as many games as Conor [Gallagher], he’s not as established yet simply because of time but I’d like to see that they’ve really considered that before they make a decision.”

Armando Broja can develop at Chelsea

Broja is not exactly the most prolific striker yet, but in his defence opportunities have been limited for him this season.

At 22, the Chelsea academy graduate is also still quite young. He has time to develop into a better all-round forward.

When you consider all of the above and how late it is in the transfer window, we do not think the Blues should be forcing Broja out of the door. Yet that is what they seem to be doing after slapping a price tag on his head.
