Ben Foster has claimed on his official podcast that Kepa Arrizabalaga should have saved Everton’s late equaliser against Chelsea at the weekend.
The Blues had led twice in the game thanks to goals from Joao Felix and Kai Havertz. However, similar inconsistencies that have previously plagued them came back to bite in the second half.
They first conceded from a set piece, and went on to allow Ellis Simms to score his first goal for Everton in injury time at Stamford Bridge.

The striker easily skipped past Kalidou Koulibaly, before his shot was too much for Kepa between the sticks.
Foster has claimed that the Spaniard should have been able to do a lot better with the shot, claiming that a goalkeeper the appropriate standard for Chelsea would have been able to make the save.
He said: “Let’s talk about this finish actually, because I think Kepa – this is where I think top goalies save that. This is a big moment; we’re talking injury-time. If he saves that, it’s 2-1, you get three points, everyone’s happy.
“These are the fine little margins that I think a top goalie has to save that. It’s in that little pocket – I know it’s a little bit awkward.”

Discussions over the goalkeeper position have not been quiet at Stamford Bridge this season. Kepa has been far preferred to former number one Edouard Mendy ever since Graham Potter joined the club.
This has reportedly led the Senegal international to being convinced of leaving the club, refusing to come to an agreement on a new contract.
Supporters will perhaps be hoping the club invest in the position during the summer. With David Raya likely to be on the move just minutes down the road, he could be the short-term answer to their issues.
