Ally McCoist claims he really hopes Mason Mount is still a Chelsea player next season.

Mason Mount, who’s a diamond to come through the Chelsea academy, has been a vital first-team player at Stamford Bridge in recent years.

However, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder is now linked with a potential exit. A lot of the fanbase are particularly concerned that he’s about to enter the final year of his contract.

Journalist Simon Phillips recently claimed on his Substack that Chelsea haven’t given up hope of convincing Mount to sign a contract extension.

Elsewhere, Football London reported earlier this week that Liverpool are interested in signing £70million-rated Mount.

TalkSPORT pundit McCoist has been discussing the situation of Mount, who’s currently sidelined through injury.

When asked if he wants Mount to sign a new Chelsea deal, McCoist told talkSPORT: “I do actually. He’s lost his way a little bit, which is understandable and acceptable in a club that has completely lost their way, it’s natural that younger player are going to suffer from it.

“I would like to see Mason Mount still at Chelsea.”

We certainly want to sign Mount sign on the dotted line and commit his future to Chelsea.

Despite a slightly underwhelming 2022/23 season, Mount is still one of the very best players in this Blues squad.

We are confident that the creative playmaker will be back to his best soon under the right manager, so it’s vital the club comes to an agreement with him.
