Andy Townsend was left really impressed by defender Thiago Silva after his most recent Chelsea display and even made a comparison to club legend John Terry with the way he scored his goal.
The Blues entered the international break off the back of a 4-1 home victory against Sheffield United in the Premier League and it means the team are just three points off the top of the table.
Silva continued a brilliant start to his Chelsea career with another eye-catching display in defence, with his calmness and composure rubbing off on his teammates.
The 36-year-old centre-back scored his first goal for the club with a well-time header, as he got on the end of a Hakim Ziyech free-kick that was taken right by the corner flag.

Ex-Blues midfielder Townsend praised the Brazilian defender after his latest performance:
“When he lept for that goal at the weekend he was like John Terry getting on the end of a whipped in corner glancing in the far corner. He breezed he game, he cruised the game. So there is a lot like about Chelsea,” Townsend told talkSPORT.
There were understandably question marks when Chelsea signed Silva in the summer on a free transfer and many weren’t sure whether at his age he could make the transition to Premier League football, but he’s answered that emphatically with a string of top-class displays.
Silva has already become a leader on the pitch for his side and it’s clear to see why he was a driving force for many years in a successful Paris Saint-Germain team.
