Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has had his say about Roman Abramovich and, consequently, Chelsea’s being sanctioned by the UK government.
Perhaps the only positive about this whole situation is that Chelsea can still operate as a football club despite being clear limitations.
The Blues, via an official statement, said that they will hold discussions with the government regarding the scope of the licence and hopefully get permission for it to be amended which will allow the club to operate “as normal as possible”.
Conte, like many other Chelsea fans, said he was surprised and saddened by the situation the club is in.

“It’s not easy, honestly, and it’s a pity also because I was a coach at this club, Chelsea,” the Italian said in his press conference on Thursday (via Sky Sports).
“I enjoyed two seasons [there], won two titles and worked at this club. It’s a pity to listen to this situation.
“It’s not simple for the players, for Thomas Tuchel, for the fans, and the whole Chelsea environment.
“Honestly, I hope that in general, this situation between Russia and Ukraine is going to finish and find peace.
“I think that it’s not right. I hope for the best, for this club, because I worked in this club, I enjoyed the two seasons [I spent there].
“For sure, I love the team, the club, that I worked in, in the past. Every team that worked in the past. I hope for the best for them.”

Tuchel and the players do not even have time to really digest the situation as they are due to face Norwich City on Thursday night
