Axel Disasi has been speaking ahead of Chelsea’s game against Panathinaikos in the Conference League.
Chelsea have made a positive start to the competition, winning their first league phase match versus Gent 4-2.
Axel Disasi started that night alongside Pedro Neto, who scored one of Chelsea’s four goals.
Disasi and Neto discussed the move that led to the latter’s strike, with it being the former who set him up.

Chelsea want to win Conference League
Chelsea’s primary objective this season will be qualifying for the Champions League. The Blues have not played in the competition since the 2022/23 campaign.
However, it looks like Disasi and his teammates are also determined to win Europe’s third-tier competition.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website about the club’s participation in the Conference League, the central defender said: “Chelsea is renowned for going all the way in European competitions. Also, we know that if we win it, we would be the first ever club to win the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League. That obviously drives us, and it’s clearly our ambition.
“For a club like Chelsea, not playing European football last season was not normal. This season, we have the opportunity to shine on the European stage, and we’ll do everything we can to bring the club back where it belongs.”
It has been a weird season for Disasi. The 26-year-old has lost his starting spot in the Chelsea team and has had to play out of position when he has come into the side.
John Obi Mikel has not been convinced by Disasi‘s performances at right-back, which is where Enzo Maresca has used him this term.
Chelsea could try to replace Axel Disasi with Ruben Dias
It is probably a bit of a pipe dream, but Chelsea could try to sign Manchester City’s Ruben Dias next year.
It has been claimed that Chelsea are exploring bringing Dias in, which would certainly spell the end for Disasi and perhaps Benoit Badiashile.
Both central defenders have been overlooked by Maresca this season, with Disasi not getting a chance to play in his natural position.
The arrival of a centre-half of Dias’ calibre would kill the France international’s Chelsea career. But again, the Blues will find it difficult to land Dias, who has been an important player for City in the current campaign. He captained Pep Guardiola’s side in their last Premier League outing, a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
