On-loan Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix has sent a message to supportive Chelsea fans ahead of his Premier League return.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Blues on a short-term loan until the end of the season, is currently serving a suspension after receiving a red card against Fulham.

It was an unfortunate start to his Chelsea career, but he seems to have won the support of the fans with his 58-minute performance in that game.

The three-game suspension means the versatile forward will miss out on the reverse fixture against Fulham at Stamford Bridge next Friday.

Felix, however, took a moment to express his gratitude towards the Chelsea fans who have sent him supportive messages amid his absence.

“It’s not about how it starts, it’s about how it ends,” the Portugal international wrote on Instagram.

“Back soon, Blues. Thanks for the support.”

A recent report from The Athletic claims that the loan agreement with Atletico includes a clause that gives Chelsea the chance to sign the Portugal international permanently.

While Atletico likely demand a high price for the forward, considering they reportedly spent £113million (BBC) for him in 2019, but Chelsea have shown that they are not afraid of making big investments in their targets.
