Journalist Florian Plettenberg has now claimed that Bayern Munich are monitoring an out-of-work manager as a potential interim solution for if they fire Thomas Tuchel.

He took to Twitter to state that the European giants are considering a candidate who actually has a positive record in his career against Chelsea.

Former Blues boss Tuchel saw the pressure crank up on him even further at the weekend following another defeat in the Bundesliga.

His Bayern side fell even further behind in the race for the title in Germany, with Bayer Leverkusen leading the way.

Xabi Alonso is in charge of the league leaders, and is reportedly already greatly admired by some at Stamford Bridge.

While Tuchel remains in a job right now, it has been claimed that they are weighing up potential options for if he is sacked, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now being mentioned.

Plettenberg claimed that the former Manchester United boss is ready to return to the game.

He said: “News on Solskjaer. FC Bayern is monitoring the 50 y/o – as a potential interim solution! But the original plan remains: FC Bayern would like to continue with Thomas Tuchel at least until the end of the season!

“Bayern and Solskjær: Nothing concrete at this stage! The former ManUtd manager is a free agent and ready to take over a new project. Freund, he’s following the way of Solskjær for years.”

While he is yet to find a job since leaving United, Chelsea fans will be well aware of the managerial talent he possesses.

The Norwegian is one of very few bosses to hold a positive record over the Blues in his career, picking up four wins and losing only twice against them.

It feels as if Tuchel is going to need a serious turnaround both in the league and the Champions League if he wants to remain in his job for much longer.
