Ian Wright thinks Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has been fantastic all season for the Blues.

The Arsenal legend was praising Raheem Sterling on Match of the Day yesterday following Chelsea’s 4-1 win against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The 28-year-old was at the heart of his side’s victory, winning a penalty and scoring a goal.

It was also his ball into the box that was deflected into Burnley’s net by Ameen Al-Dakhil.

Next up for Sterling and Chelsea is a tough tie against London rivals Arsenal straight after the international break.

Ian Wright impressed with Raheem Sterling

While Chelsea have struggled overall this season, Wright thinks Sterling has still managed to perform.

Speaking after his performance against Vincent Kompany’s side, the former Arsenal striker said: “To be fair to him, he’s been fantastic all season. With everything that’s going on at Chelsea, he’s been putting in sterling performances.”

Chelsea picked up just one win from their first five Premier League games this term. However, they have really got going this month, managing to beat not only Burnley, but also Fulham.

Raheem Sterling has been fantastic

Honestly, Sterling’s form did take a little bit of a dip before Mauricio Pochettino’s men defeated the Clarets and their west London rivals.

His strike against Burnley was only his third of the season, with his last two both coming in a 3-0 win versus Luton Town in August.

However, certainly compared to Chelsea’s other attackers, Sterling probably has been the best player in Pochettino’s squad.

Hopefully the England international can keep it up, especially with Arsenal making the trip to Stamford Bridge next. If he can, then things should continue to improve for the Blues.
