Ben Chilwell uploaded an upbeat post on Instagram last night after Chelsea’s narrow victory against Brighton.

It’s been an extremely dull start to the season for the Blues, but they’ll hope this week’s 1-0 win over Brighton can be the catalyst in the season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will now face Championship club Blackburn Rovers in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after eliminating Brighton on Wednesday night.

Nicolas Jackson popped up with a match-winning goal early in the second half, which was just his second strike for the club.

Ben Chilwell, who captained Chelsea’s last night, helped his side to a precious win.

The 26-year-old full-back posted a four-word message on Instagram straight after the match.

“That’s more like it,” he wrote.

It was far from vintage by Chelsea last night and Brighton had chances, but the result alone is worth more than any performance right now.

In fairness, there was some big positives from the Blues to be upbeat about. The main one being the fact that we finally ended our goal drought through Jackson.

Journalist Matt Law recently told the London Is Blue podcast that Chilwell is really well liked by the staff and players around Chelsea.

We suspect he’ll play a key role in any revival on the pitch. Blues fans will be holding their breath to hear about a possible injury he picked up against Brighton, though.
