Chelsea star Cole Palmer has become one of the faces of the Premier League in 2024.
Cole Palmer, who’s still only aged 22, is the superstar name in the Chelsea squad. On top of that, he now ranks as one of the elite players across the entire Premier League.
The attacker’s debut campaign with the Blues last year was exceptional, but the fact that he’s backing it up this season might be even more impressive. In 15 league games so far this season, he’s scored 11 goals and made six assists.
Enzo Maresca deserves huge praise as the Chelsea manager for regularly deploying Palmer in a central No.10 position, where he’s tormenting opponents with his movement, skill and end product.
If you want an indication of his impact in west London, Jamie Carragher compared Palmer to Chelsea great Eden Hazard.

Ben Foster’s big claim on Cole Palmer
Ben Foster has admitted that there’s not a single player in the Premier League he’d pick to have in his team over Chelsea star Palmer. Admittedly, he did give a mention to Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah as one possible exception.
Foster said on his YouTube channel” “I don’t think there’s another player in the Premier League, Mohamed Salah maybe, but there’s not another player I would want in my team more than Cole Palmer… What a player. He’s so, so good.”
Maresca agrees Chelsea’s Palmer might be the Premier League’s best player. The fact that he’s even in the conversation is a testament to the youngster’s outrageous ability.
If you asked Blues supporters would they swap Palmer for a rival player in the country, we doubt too many would take you up on that offer.
Ally McCoist prediction on Cole Palmer comes true
The big question mark over Palmer going into this 2024/25 season was regarding whether or not he could replicate last year’s success. Thankfully, he’s answered that in emphatic fashion.
Speaking back in August, Ally McCoist tipped Chelsea’s Palmer for another terrific season, and his prediction has been spot on.
| Appearances | Goals | Assists | Shots | Touches | Successful dribbles | Chances created | Rating |
| 15 | 11 | 6 | 53 | 806 | 18 | 40 | 8.02 |
If Chelsea are to launch the unlikeliest of title challenges in the second half of the season, Palmer is likely to be at the centre of it with his major influence.
