Jason Cundy highlighted Conor Gallagher’s “outstanding” work rate in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The Blues ended a three-game defeat streak with a win over their London rivals at Stamford Bridge.
Kai Havertz’s header in the second half proved decisive in the end, although Patrick Vieira’s men managed to make Chelsea work for the three points, especially in the last 15 minutes of the game.
Several Chelsea players, including Kepa Arrizabalaga and Thiago Silva, had a very good game, but it was Gallagher who impressed Cundy the most.

“He was outstanding — the best player on the pitch,” the former Blues defender said about Gallagher on Chelsea’s Matchday Live after the game.
“From minute one, when he made that lung-bursting run on the right-hand side, breaking through the lines, stretching their backline…
“We don’t do that enough as a team, but Connor was the one who did that. Mason [Mount] did have some part, but Connor was the willing runner all 98 minutes.”

Gallagher was everywhere, indeed.
The England international made four tackles and one interception, won 13 of 20 ground duels, and created three chances for the team.
Cundy even jokingly said that Gallagher may have gone from being a hero to a villain to Crystal Palace considering his performance against his former loan club this season.
“He won’t mind,” the pundit added.
