Andreas Christensen’s hot streak with Chelsea continued onto the national stage with Denmark yesterday afternoon.

Christensen started in the Danes’ 2-0 win over Israel in their first World Cup qualifying group game.

Chelsea supporters were absolutely delighted to see their defender dominating with his international side.

This kind of confident display has become a familiar pattern for Christensen in the past few months.

His emergence as one of the Blues best players during Thomas Tuchel’s rein can been pit down as revolutionary.

The 24-year-old stepped in for Thiago Silva last month and is yet to look back.

Ten of his 18 appearances for Chelsea this season have come under Tuchel’s stewardship, an indication of his current worth compared to how Frank Lampard viewed him.

He carried his fine form over onto the international arena by helping Denmark to three points and a clean sheet.

That means Christensen hasn’t conceded a goal of any kind since the Blues defeated Sheffield United 2-1 on February 7th.

It is quite a remarkable record for a player who didn’t seem to have much of a future at Stamford Bridge at the turn of the year.

Now, the central defender is absolutely key for club and country.
