Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf was not impressed with Axel Disasi and Noni Madueke’s defending for Brentford’s opener against the Blues on Saturday.
Both Axel Disasi and Noni Madueke failed to deal with Ethan Pinnock at the back post and Frank Leboeuf, speaking on ESPN FC, has now criticised the pair.
The former Chelsea defender was also critical of Marc Cucurella after he missed a golden opportunity to score in the first half.

The Blues were punished for it, with Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo both going on to net to lead Brentford to a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Frank Leboeuf not impressed with Axel Disasi and Noni Madueke
Leboeuf was not happy with what he saw from Disasi and Madueke before Pinnock’s goal.
Discussing the Chelsea duo on ESPN FC, he said: “The goal they conceded is a mistake between, first it’s Cucurella, and then a big mistake between Madueke and Disasi at the far post. And that is about communication, it’s about covering, it’s about everything. And that is lacking, crazy.”
Poor from Axel Disasi and Noni Madueke
Mauricio Pochettino would not have been happy with Disasi and Madueke either.
It was such a poor goal to concede, with neither player really challenging Pinnock in the air. There was clearly a lack of communication, and maybe that was down to the fact the Disasi and Madueke have barely played with each other and have not worked together on the same flank before.
Still, it was not good enough and Chelsea were made to pay the price.

That Disasi and Madueke combo is probably not one Chelsea supporters will be seeing too often, though.
The former normally plays in central defence, while the latter is not even a starter at Stamford Bridge yet.
They are not the only ones to blame for the Blues’ latest defeat, however. Once again, the team did not do enough in attack. Had Cucurella taken his chance or passed the ball to Madueke, Chelsea would have gone 1-0 up and the game could have finished much differently, probably in their favour.
