A pathway into the Chelsea first team may be about to appear for prospect Conor Gallagher, amid reported loan interest in Blues talent Billy Gilmour.
Gilmour, 20, is an exciting Chelsea midfielder who’s reputation has continued to soar after his Scotland performance against England at Euro 2020.
The technically gifted youngster operated as the fourth-choice central midfielder last season in the Blues squad. Unfortunately, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho are the senior heads above him.
Everyone at Stamford Bridge is aware of his talent, but reports suggest he may be given the 2021/21 season out on loan to play more regularly.
The Athletic claims that Norwich City have “high hopes” of signing Gilmour on loan. In addition, the Daily Record names Rangers as possible suitors for him in the upcoming campaign.

Gilmour loan will leave Chelsea gap
If Gilmour does depart, there is going to be a gap open in the Chelsea senior squad.
Thomas Tuchel is going to need an extra central midfielder to compete with his main crop, so perhaps he’ll look at some of the players returning from their respective loans.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley are two individuals due to report to Chelsea in pre-season, but another is Gallagher.
Gallagher spent the 2020/21 season with West Brom, who were eventually relegated from the Premier League.
However, the 21-year-old did his reputation no harm.
He’s a versatile midfielder capable of filling it at offensive or defensive roles, so could be a great fit for Tuchel.
The Englishman is a tenacious midfielder with great stamina, hunger and potential.
He’s definitely someone that could slot into the Gilmour role as a squad member at the Bridge if given a chance.
Gallagher received special praise from Premier League legend and pundit Alan Shearer back in April.
“The lad’s got quality and confidence going forward… I think the young man is having a positive season at West Brom, but if he can do that week in week out for Chelsea is another matter,” Shearer said.
