Chelsea defender Reece James has revealed a new tattoo on his calf that’s a tribute to last season’s Champions League success – and some Blues fans on Twitter love it.
James fulfilled a dream only a few months ago when Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 in the Champions League final. The 21-year-old, along with fellow academy graduate Mason Mount, started in the all-English final in Portugal.
James has uploaded a picture on his Instagram that shows the tattoo of the Champions League trophy. Also, it includes the date of the final and the three words “Dream Believe Achieve”.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media are amazed by the artwork on the right-back’s leg.
Reece James can be Chelsea player for a decade, tattoo means fans love him even more
It’s a shame that so many talented players from Chelsea’s academy have departed already this summer. Lewis Bate and Tino Livramento are two standouts that have joined Leeds United and Southampton respectively on permanent deals. However, it’s unrealistic to thing every single player will end up in the first team.
James is one of the Blues gems that seems like he’s going to be with the senior squad for the long haul.
The England international is a powerhouse full-back that has achieved a dream goal now of winning the Champions League, but he’s got to refocus to set new targets.
Aged 21, there is so much improvement he can make to his game with more experience.
He’s got everything you want in a right-back with pace, power and aggression. In addition, he’s got a lovely blend of attacking and defending to his game.
There is so much this young Chelsea group can go onto achieve, so perhaps James needs to make his next tattoo smaller to save room for all the trophies he can win.
Here are some Blues fans discussing James:
