It is pretty unanimous who made the biggest impact on this Chelsea team during last season.
Despite joining the club on deadline day last summer, it didn’t take Cole Palmer long to hit the ground running, and actually become one of the best players in the Premier League in the process.
It has already been claimed that some at the club think Palmer can become even better under new manager Enzo Maresca, who is preparing for his first game in management at the top level of English football.

Bent questions if Cole Palmer can recreate brilliance
The position he is going to play in the new system remains to be seen, with his strengths leaning to him featuring both on the right of attack as well as behind the striker in the middle.
Pundit Darren Bent wonders though whether he can replicate his brilliance after showing everyone how good he can be last season.
He said to TalkSPORT: “His last season was incredible, but can he back it up? This season will be harder than last season because everyone will know how good he is.”
Chelsea struggle in pre-season
Based on what was seen from the Blues during their pre-season tour of the United States, they could well be looking to Palmer again to bail them out of situations in the coming weeks.
Chelsea picked up just one win during their tour of the United States, with defeats to Manchester City, Real Madrid and Celtic.
Some players did take their chance to impress though, and one of those was Noni Madueke, who scored in the last three friendlies in a row.
If Maresca feels as if the winger has earnt himself a start for the season opener against City, this could see Palmer occupy a central position where he may get more freedom to show his talents, which is an exciting prospect for Chelsea fans.
