Ex-Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has raved about the quality of current Blues star Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Fabregas was a major favourite at Stamford Bridge during his time in West London and he left in January 2019 for Monaco after winning two Premier League titles with Chelsea.
The Spanish maestro was named on the bench alongside Callum Hudson-Odoi when the youngster made his first-team debut back in January 2018 against Newcastle United in the FA Cup.
Hudson-Odoi came on for a late cameo appearance in that cup fixture and has now played 48 senior games for the club.
The 19-year-old has already had to overcome an Achilles injury in his career, but is an extremely highly-rated talent to come out of the academy and is expected to be a star name for years to come in Frank Lampard’s team.
He’s managed 20 appearances so far this season, scoring two goals and supplying four assists in return.
The England international is yet to really cement his stating spot in the XI, but received the confidence boost of a goal at the weekend against Nottingham Forest.

“The first time he (Hudson-Odoi) came to train with us I knew he was different, his finishing and pace were something else for his age. He has a long way to go and just came back from a terrible injury. With time and good attitude he can become a terrific player,” Fabregas wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Hudson-Odoi certainly does have a long way to go to reach the top, but he’s got a brilliant platform to succeed at Stamford Bridge and Lampard will play youngster if they are in-form.
The rapid attacker should hope for an improved second half of the season and ultimately he’s at his best when he’s expressive on the ball.
Fans need to remember that he only turned 19 back in November and Fabregas wouldn’t throw around such high praise for no reason.
