Champions League final: Guardiola says 'special' Manchester City player is ready to face Chelsea
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Sergio Aguero will be part of the Manchester City squad that will face Chelsea in Saturday’s Champions League final.
The 32-year-old has arguably been the one striker that has caused most problems for Chelsea in the last decade.
Obviously, he failed to convert his penalty after Edouard Mendy brilliantly read his panenka at Etihad Stadium earlier this month.
Still, in his career, the Argentina international has scored more goals against Chelsea (15 — joint with Newcastle United) than any other club he has played against.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
Aguero has given everyone a reminder that he is still a top-level striker after scoring two goals in a 25-minute cameo in the final-day fixture win over Everton.
Despite his farewell speech at the end of that game, Guardiola insisted that Aguero is still focused on helping Manchester City to win their first-ever Champions League trophy.
“Of course,” Guardiola said about whether Aguero will take part in the final against Chelsea in his press conference on Sunday (via HaytersTV).
“We have five substitutions, and he has something special, you know, Sergio.
“And of course, he will be ready, and he is ready if we need him to help us win the Champions League.”
