QPR midfielder Ilias Chair has claimed that he is a technically better player than Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech.

The 25-year-old told Football Daily that he has the edge on his international teammate in that department, as the Blue is a bigger presence.

The Championship star was part of the World Cup squad alongside Ziyech that outperformed expectations in Qatar last year.

They reached the semi-finals of the competition where they were defeated by France, but not before they defeated the likes of Portugal, Spain and Belgium.

Chair only featured in the third place play-off, where rotation was expected after a tough tournament for a near-enough meaningless game.

Ziyech’s strongest performances of the campaign for club or country have come on the international stage, after being reintegrated back into the setup.

Chair has claimed however that he has the technical edge on his compatriot.

He said: “I’ve got to be humble here right? Nah. Who is the better technical player? He’s bigger than me, so I only have my technique. I’d have to say myself.”

It is widely expected for the winger to be on the move at the end of the season. He was very close to being loaned out on deadline day back in January.

PSG were extremely keen on a deal to strengthen their depth in attack for the rest of the season, however an error on Chelsea’s part saw the deal collapse as they focused on signings of their own.

He has remained out of favour for the majority of time since the transfer window closed, only pointing towards a move away in the summer.

With the additions of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, competition for places has become even more intense, and there doesn’t seem to be space for the Moroccan anymore.
