Chelsea winger Charly Musonda Jr has returned to Cobham after over a year of rehabilitation following a career-threatening knee injury.

It was in October last year, Musonda decided to undergo a surgery after years of recurring post cruciate ligament problems in his knee.

According to a report from Belgian outlet HLN, the doctor told him that he had only 20 percent of chance of ever playing football professionally again.

Musonda kept believing as he went to Dubai for rehabilitation — and he beat the odds.

He has now returned to London and shared footage of his training session in a Chelsea kit.

“Feels good to be back at Cobham and back in training,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

“The comeback continues.”

An earlier report from Goal claimed Musonda will join the development squad, although his future at Chelsea remains unclear.

The 24-year-old still has 18-month left in his contract at Stamford Bridge.

But a first-team inclusion seems very unlikely considering the last time he had a regular season was back in 2015/16 during his loan spell at Real Betis.
