Chelsea have not been shy to get busy this summer as they look to give the best possible platform to their new manager to succeed.

Enzo Maresca has got preparations underway for the new season, beginning to get his philosophies across to his players in his first pre-season training session.

The Blues have already made a number of signings this summer, addressing both the immediate situation as well as the future at the club.

The highlight addition up to now has been Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who had his best individual season last time out while Maresca was in charge of him at Leicester City.

Now, reports have stated that the Blues have agreed a deal to sign yet another player, with The Athletic claiming they have reached an agreement in principle over the signing of Caleb Wiley.

At 19 years of age, the United States international is likely an addition made for the future, with the report going on to say that it looks as if a loan to Strasbourg is in the immediate future for him.

A left-back by trade, Wiley has already gained plenty of plaudits for his performances in the MLS. Atlanta United head coach Gonzalo Pineda has previously described him as ‘tremendous’.

There will no doubt be some supporters who are calling for more signings to be made that will impact them straight away and feature in the opening Premier League game against Manchester City.

It was reported that they made Michael Olise their number one transfer target early in the window, however he ended up making the move to Bayern Munich.

It remains to be seen if they look to spend big money on another winger, with them reportedly being interested in Nico Williams. However, the financial impact of that deal would have is currently stopping them from taking it any further.
