The U21 European Championships represent an opportunity for Chelsea to analyse and scout the upcoming talent who they could look to make a move for.
The Blues have already secured the services of Geovany Quenda from 2026 onwards, and he is at the tournament representing Portugal.
National media were thrilled at Quenda’S first performance, however supporters will not be getting a look at Liam Delap after he prioritised the Club World Cup over international duty.
As Chelsea continue to search the transfer market for a new attacker, they will certainly have been impressed with what they saw from Germany forward Nick Woltemade.

Chelsea keen on signing U21 Euros hat-trick hero Nick Woltemade
As his nation opened their campaign with a 3-0 win, the Stuttgart man scored all three goals in a remarkable performance.
It seems as if Chelsea were already aware of his talents before the tournament got underway.
According to journalist Julian Agardi, Chelsea approached the Bundesliga side before the U21 Euros got underway to explore the possibility of signing him this summer.
He said: “Before the start of the U21 Chelsea approached Nick Woltemade. The English club stated that they were closely monitoring the striker and were exploring the contractual situation. Talks between VfB and Woltemade’s side will begin next week. The topic: a salary increase.”
Woltemade has not just emerged out of nowhere at the start of this tournament either. The forward enjoyed a very prolific season with Stuttgart too.

Nick Woltemade 24/25 stats
Standing at 6 feet 6 inches, it is clear to see why the German is a threat to the opposition with his ability in the air.
Despite not starting every game, he boasts a very impressive goalscoring record from the 24/25 season in both the league and cup competitions

Despite signing Delap, another forward is not being ruled out to join Chelsea this summer, with Hugo Ekitike being mentioned as a key target.
However, his club are holding out for an extortionate fee, and the Blues could be convinced to push ahead with the cheaper option of Woltemade instead.
