Chelsea already own the next Trevoh Chalobah with 18-year-old tipped to become a ‘big player’ - TCC View

Levi Colwill is one man in the Chelsea loan army that may have a huge future ahead of him.

Of course, you don’t want to overload pressure on someone so young. However, the 18-year-old is already looking the part in first-team football.

Colwill, who’s come through the Chelsea academy, was sent out on loan this season by the Blues to join Championship club Huddersfield Town.

The teenage centre-back is experiencing his first taste of senior action and it’s remarkable to see how quickly he’s adjusted from academy football to the physically demanding Championship.

Colwill is showing real maturity and composure as the left-sided centre-back in Huddersfield’s back-three. He’s dominant in the air, plus very comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Unfortunately, he’s had to pull out of the England Under-21s squad during the current internatonal break because of an ankle injury.

The centre-half is such an impressive player, though, that is starting to make a real name for himself.

The next Trevoh Chalobah?

22-year-old defender Trevoh Chalobah was integrated into Thomas Tuchel’s main Chelsea squad this season after previous years out on loan.

He’s been superb the given the chance to play this campaign, scoring two goals in the Premier League already.

The Englishman has been the success story at Stamford Bridge in terms of a loanee breaking into the group and surely Colwill has the potential to follow in his footsteps.

Aged 18, Colwill’s potential is ridiculous and you could picture him playing at the Bridge further down the line. He needs to focus on his loan now because it’s proving vital for his development.

Levi Colwill tipped for “big future”

Colwill is receiving a lot of praise from both Huddersfield fans and Chelsea supporters, with many acknowledging the mad potential he’s got. Some of the Blues fanbase praised him in September for a performance against Blackpool.

Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan clearly likes him too because he’s been a regular starter under him.

The Spanish manager has previously made a prediction about the Blues loanee:

“To play with that maturity is incredible, the future is bright for him. He has everything to play for, he’ll be a big player,” Corberan said.
