A lot of blame has been left at the door of one Chelsea player in particular for a number of goals they have conceded so far this season.

Robert Sanchez has started near enough every Premier League game so far this season, however has unfortunately been at fault for some crucial goals the Blues have conceded.

No goalkeeper has made more mistakes leading to goals than Sanchez this season, and supporters have lost patience in him being their number one for much longer.

Chelsea interested in signing Gregor Kobel

Despite no obvious names coming to the front of the queue in January, it seems as if decision makers at Stamford Bridge have been keeping an eye on potential players to bring in for that position.

One of those appears to be Borussia Dortmund shot stopper Gregor Kobel, with the Swiss international being with the Bundesliga side since 2021.

After being key in his side reaching the Champions League final alongside Jadon Sancho last season, Kobel is seen as one of the best goalkeepers in world football.

Chelsea have taken note of this, and according to The Independent, they believe the Dortmund man would be a far better fit for their style of football than their current number one.

Previous reports have stated that Chelsea would be willing to offer as much as £67m for a deal to sign Kobel, which would put him amongst the most expensive goalkeeper in Premier League history.

Chelsea chiefs and Enzo Maresca disagree about Robert Sanchez

Maresca has been defiant in his backing of Sanchez, including straight after games where he has made key errors.

This has been shown in his team selection too, although it seems not everyone at the club is in agreement about the Spaniard.

It was reported some at the club have done their homework on new goalkeepers already.

There is clearly not much faith in Filip Jorgensen from the manager either, with the majority of his appearances so far coming in the cup competitions.
