Chelsea are still really big fans of ‘amazing’ player linked with move away

Reports have begun to link some of Chelsea’s first team players with a move away from the club in an upcoming transfer window.

It was perhaps to be expected that there would be rumours of discontent within the squad due to the plethora of quality players they have at their disposal.

Christopher Nkunku is reportedly unhappy with the minutes he is getting at the club, with him starting just one Premier League game so far this season.

Enzo Maresca has stayed loyal to a number of his players for strong performances, and this has left a number of players forced to earn their minutes in the Conference League.

One of those who has starred in that competition is Mykhailo Mudryk, with him already having five goal contributions in three group stage games.

Chelsea still happy with Mykhailo Mudryk

Mudryk will have felt he deserved a start against Arsenal after starring in Europe, however he only came on for a cameo off the bench.

Reports have begun to link the Ukraine international with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

However, Graeme Bailey has told The Chelsea Chronicle that the Blues are not unhappy with Mudryk at all, and will likely not be pushing him out.

He said: “They weren’t particularly pushing Mudryk out in the summer. I think they really like him as a personality, as a footballer in terms of his professionalism, they don’t really have any issues with him to be honest.

“I think it’s just the weight of numbers ahead of him at the moment that is really stopping him playing. I’m not sure Mudryk’s going to be pushing for that move in January. We’ll see, he might do, because he might get a bit frustrated not playing.

“From what I’m hearing, Chelsea are not unhappy with Mudryk at all. They like what he’s about, they like his work ethic. I’m not sure he’ll be one of the first out.”

Enzo Maresca getting more out of Mudryk

Mauricio Pochettino was a fan of Mudryk during his time at Chelsea, describing him as ‘amazing’.

However, it is fair to say he has underseen far bigger improvements under Maresca, and still looks as if he has a part to play at Stamford Bridge.

It remains to be seen if he will have a big part to play when the Blues return to Premier League action at the weekend with a trip to Leicester City.
