Chelsea have officially begun pre-season preparations ahead of the new season which starts with the away Premier League fixture against Brighton on September 14 for the Blues.
After a brief rest period, today the players returned to training at Cobham.
Frank Lampard, Jody Morris, Joe Edwards, and Chris Jones led the training sessions which include several fitness drills, stretching exercises, and plenty of ball work.
The summer signings Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner who have trained with their new Chelsea teammates for a few weeks are present, along with some new faces; Ethan Ampadu, Conor Gallagher and Jake Clarke-Salter among others who have returned from loans.
Several academy and development squad players have also joined the training.

Chelsea have yet to announce any pre-season friendly, but a report from the Telegraph previously said that the Blues will play against local teams.
It would be similar to previous friendlies prior to the Premier League restart where they played against Reading and Queens’ Park Rangers at Cobham and Stamford Bridge, respectively.
The report also said that Chelsea opt against travelling overseas and have cancelled their previous plan of a pre-season trip to the United States.
