Chelsea blocked Conor Gallagher from holding external interviews during the tour of the United States, due to his “delicate” situation at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to The Athletic.
So, what is the latest on Conor Gallagher at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the England international only has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
The Athletic explain how that is usually Todd Boehly’s cutoff point for either a sale or a contract extension, although there is currently no plan to extend Gallagher’s deal.
Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports has added that Mauricio Pochettino and Boehly are on a different page when it comes to the Chelsea No.23 – the Argentine has no urgent desire to sell him, whereas the American would cash in if a decent offer arrived.

Now – as detailed by The Athletic – it has been revealed that Chelsea stopped Gallagher from holding external interviews out in the United States, in recognition of the delicate situation.
However, it is also said that Pochettino trusts the 23-year-old, who actually played more minutes during the tour of the United States than any other Chelsea player.
Conor Gallagher may have won fight for Chelsea place
At one stage, it seemed likely that Gallagher would leave – Fabrizio Romano claimed that West Ham made a £40m bid, and Chelsea were open to selling for £50m.
Now – however – the Evening Standard believe Chelsea’s academy graduate is going to stay in west London.

Gallagher endured a very tough 2022/23 campaign – as did most at Chelsea – but he has battled back to impress this summer, scoring two goals while also delivering some strong all round performances.
Now, it is over to Boehly to offer Gallagher a new contract, and end doubts over his future.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as things may still change if Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia arrive at Stamford Bridge.
