Chelsea’s have confirmed that they are going to be debuting their new third kit for the Premier League game at the weekend against Bournemouth.

The official club website confirmed that the new strip, which was released today, will be on show at the Vitality stadium when the Blues look to get back to winning ways.

The colourway is named ‘Eton Blue’ and pays homage to the first kit the club ever used more than a century ago.

It also is a reference to an away strip worn in 1986/87, which has a cult status amongst supporters of that era.

The club so far have used their home kit for every game, with three of them taking place at Stamford Bridge up to now.

The only away fixture was the loss to West Ham, where Moises Caicedo endured somewhat of a nightmare debut.

Chelsea to debut new third kit

Up to now, there has been no sponsor on the kits of Chelsea due to numerous issues surrounding those who have agreed partnerships with the club.

It is likely that a deal with ‘Infinite Athlete’ is going to be announced soon, that will see the sportswear brand make its debut on the front of all three shirts.

However, even the third kit which was released today has given fans the opportunity to purchase a piece of history in the form of a non-sponsored kit.

The third kit is set to make its debut before the away kit, which was also not announced before the season was underway as they struggled for sponsors.

However, with a strong deal in the pipeline and reports of a multi-year sponsorship opportunity to follow, it looks as if things are on the up in this department at least.
