The Blues will be hoping to have Maresca’s replacement in place before the Blues make the trip to take on Manchester City on Sunday.

Liam Rosenior is seen by many as a favourite to take over due to his ties with Strasbourg, also owned by BlueCo.

It feels likely that Chelsea are going to look to a less experienced coach in order to fit in with the model that has extended throughout the club.

Chelsea could hire Francesco Farioli to replace Enzo Maresca

One of the most impressive young managers this season has been Porto boss Francesco Farioli, who is just 36 years of age.

However, his side are unbeaten throughout the league this season, only tasting defeat twice in all competitions.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea could look to hire Farioli to replace Maresca, however would have to pay his buyout clause, believed to be in the region of £13m.

What would you make of this, Chelsea fans?🤔

The Blues have been stung in the past when it comes to paying big money to bring in a new manager, only for it not to work out.

Chelsea paid a pretty penny for Graham Potter to become the first permanent hire under Todd Boehly’s reign, however sacked him later that season.

Who is Francesco Farioli?

Farioli only became Porto manager at the start of the season, but he has helped completely shift the narrative in Portugal after recent dominance from Sporting.

Before his time there, he was in charge of Ajax and Nice, despite his young age.

The Italian is getting the best out of Samu Aghehowa up front for Porto. He has nine goals so far this season.

Chelsea have been linked again with Samu of late, and bringing the two to Stamford Bridge together cannot be ruled out.
