Chelsea could sell ‘impressive’ player for £22m this summer, some people within the club massively rate him

Chelsea want around £22m for Trevoh Chalobah amid interest from Inter Milan.

That is according to a report on Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

It claims that Trevoh Chalobah is a name that Inter are considering as they look to bring in a new central defender this summer.

Di Marzio’s site also states that Chelsea have slapped a price tag of about £22m on the 24-year-old’s head.

Competition for a place in the Blues’ defence is set to be fierce this season, so a move could be in Chalobah’s best interest.

Trevoh Chalobah could struggle to find game time

Chelsea recently signed Axel Disasi from AS Monaco, while Levi Colwill has returned from his loan at Brighton & Hove Albion and is staying at the club after signing a new long-term contract.

Mauricio Pochettino will also have Thiago Silva and Benoit Badiashile to call upon this season, so the Argentine certainly has options in central defence.

When you consider all of that, Chalobah is probably quite low down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge right now.

He is not a bad defender, with his former manager Graham Potter having described him as a “solider” in the past and praised him for being an”impressive character”.

According to journalist Dean Jones, Chalobah is also someone who is highly regarded at Chelsea.

“I think that there are definitely people within the club that still admire him and think he is capable of playing at this level,” he told GiveMeSport.

At the end of the day, though, Chalobah is going to want to play football regularly, and that may not happen in west London this season given all of the central defensive options Pochettino currently has available to him.

Therefore, a move to Inter before the transfer window closes could be the route for the centre-back to take.
