Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw on Monday against an in-form Aston Villa side – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter reacted to give credit to 21-year-old Kai Havertz for his individual performance.
The Blues missed the chance to move into the top four of the Premier League, as they recorded yet another disppointing result.
Olivier Giroud fired Frank Lampard’s side ahead in the first-half with a trademark header at the near-post, but Villa equalised early in the second-half with a cultured volley from close-range by Anwar El Ghazi.
Chelsea’s players did give a response to the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal a couple of days earlier, but really could’ve done with three points in their final game of 2020.

A selection of Blues supporters on social media felt that Havertz made a positive impact from the bench against Villa.
The German attacking midfielder entered the action as a substitute in the 72th minute and showed some clever touches around the final third, but ultimately Chelsea were unable to find a winner.
He’s a talented playmaker that hasn’t hit the ground running since his summer arrival from Bayer Leverkusen and has fallen out of the starting XI, which is why his positive cameo could at least give him some confidence.
