Chelsea’s excellent recent form continued on Saturday with a convincing win at home to Sheffield United – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out Ben Chilwell as a huge positive from the result.

Frank Lampard’s side had to come from a goal down to record a 4-1 victory at Stamford Bridge and there were four different goalscorers for the Blues.

Tammy Abraham was on hand to equalise after David McGoldrick had put the visitors ahead, before Chilwell got a touch at the back post to put Chelsea ahead at half-time.

Thiago Silva’s first Chelsea goal gave the Blues a third in the 77th minute, while centre-forward Timo Werner got another goal this season to wrap up the scoring.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were left delighted with their result going into the international break and felt defender Chilwell deserved amazing credit.

The 23-year-old left-back didn’t know too much about his goal in the first-half when it ricocheted in off him, but he was a constant attacking threat in the contest with his runs forward and it’s been superb start for him this season.

He had his doubters when he joined in the summer from Leicester City, but the England full-back has quickly become a favourite and is now a nailed-on starter under Lampard.
