Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku was on target yet again last night as he helped fire Roma to a 3-0 win in the Europa League.

The result was only enough for them to finish second in the group, meaning they will be forced to face one of the sides who are dropping down from the Champions League.

This could set up a potential clash with AC Milan, after Christian Pulisic’s great performance inspired his side to a victory over Newcastle on Wednesday.

While Lukaku is still technically a member of the Chelsea squad, his future at the club is non-existent after a number of bridges have already been burned.

The majority of the last summer transfer window was spent trying to find a permanent exit for the Belgian, however they had to settle for another loan away.

This time around, he has made finding the net a regular occurrence again. Last night’s goal made it 12 in all competitions this season for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Chelsea fans will have noticed this while looking at their current striker situation, where it looks as if they will be about to spend big money on a forward again to solve their current issues.

Some even took to Twitter to share their dismay about how things didn’t work out for the big man at Stamford Bridge.

One user said: “One day we will sit down and discuss why many prolific attackers have struggled at Chelsea.”

Another added: “Honestly Chelsea should have kept Lukaku cause I don’t see any reason to play Jackson over him.”

A third claimed: “I’ll take Lukaku back at Chelsea instead of signing Oshimen for 120M But that’s just me.”

With reports already circulating that the Belgian has agreed terms on where he will play his football next season, supporters will be forced to look towards a future without him.
