Chelsea supporters are just minutes away from seeing their side’s Premier League campaign get underway.
The Blues will be looking to move past some underwhelming results during pre-season, with Enzo Maresca looking to get off to the best possible start at Stamford Bridge.
There was always going to be plenty of interest in the side the Italian named to take on Manchester City today, with a number of big calls made.

Maresca made it clear that only Reece James was missing through injury, however he was not going to be available anyway due to the suspension he was carrying from last season.
Elsewhere, it was a clean bill of health for the Blues, a rarity after remembering just how bad their injury issues were for the prior campaign.
Maresca has decided to name none of his new signings in the first XI of the season, however it will be a competitive first start at Stamford Bridge for Romeo Lavia.
Chelsea fans happy with Starting XI vs Manchester City
Chelsea supporters are more than happy with the side named by the Italian to take on the champions this afternoon.
One user said: “This is very solid , expecting a very good game.”
Another added: “WHAT A TEAM. LETS GET THIS WIN.”
A third claimed: “Nice team. Hope Gusto overlaps Palmer instead of inverting into the middle. Need more defensive stability & get Palmer more central. Don’t really like Nkunku as a touchline winger, but it is what it is. No Sterling in the squad.”
Another stated: “WHAT A LINEUP OMG.”
Finally, one user said: “Nice. What I expected basically. Thought KDH might get in over one of the wingers but that’s an exciting lineup Come on Chels.”
Raheem Sterling not in Chelsea squad to face Man City
Perhaps the most interesting call made is for Raheem Sterling not to be involved at all, with talk refusing to go away that he is surplus to requirements to the decision makers at the club.
There is certainly room for the likes of Pedro Neto to make an impact off the bench, with him the biggest money signing of the summer so far.
There will also be a first competitive appearance of any kind for over a year for Wesley Fofana, with a lot wondering if he can recapture his old brilliance before his unfortunate run of injuries.
