Chelsea qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were amazed by the display from attacker Hakim Ziyech.

The Blues went into the fixture at Stamford Bridge with a one-goal aggregate lead from the first leg.

Chelsea, who are still unbeaten under Thomas Tuchel, secured another victory to beat the Spanish opposition 3-0 on aggregate.

Ziyech was so crucial on the night for the hosts, as he finished off a slick attacking move with his first-half goal.

The 27-year-old forward tucked in a close-range finish with his weaker foot, but overall it was one of his most encouraging displays since his summer arrival from Ajax.

He operated behind the central striker ghosting into pockets of space, plus he linked up well with right-back Reece James.

Additionally, substitute Emerson Palmieri scored in stoppage time with his first touch to complete the win.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe Ziyech was outstanding against Atletico.

He’s had a fair amount of criticism during his first year at the club and it’s been very stop-start, but he’ll hope his latest display can be a real turning point in his season.
