Reece James has shared that he’s received a lot of help from senior Chelsea teammate Thiago Silva – and some of the club’s fans are delighted with the revelation.
James, 21, is a highly-rated defender to come through the Blues academy and he enjoyed a breakout senior year last season.
The attack-minded right-back is now tasked with trying to win over new manager, Thomas Tuchel, who is having a good look at everyone in the squad at Stamford Bridge.
James has revealed that he’s had plenty of help from summer signing Silva.
The 36-year-old centre-back has been regarded as one of the top defenders in the world over the past decade, which is why it sounds like all the Chelsea players are picking his experienced brain.
“I think, this season, Thiago Silva has probably influenced my career the most so far, just because he is well experienced and played at the very top of the game for the last 15 years,” James told BBC Sport.

The Brazilian centre-half has shown he can still deliver top-class displays on the pitch, but what he’s doing off it and around the dressing room must be equally as important.
