Eagle-eyed Chelsea fans have spotted a new logo from Chelsea ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Taking a look at Chelsea on all platforms, there were some supporters that noticed a slight difference when it came to the club crest.

While retaining its core identity, the 2026 logo implements subtle graphic modifications to achieve a modern, borderless 2D aesthetic.

Key updates include a deeper base blue color, the removal of the traditional yellow and white borders, and a simplified, flat central lion.

Additionally, the surrounding typography has been sleekly updated to match Chelsea’s bespoke club typeface.

The response from Chelsea supporters was largely positive on X.

One supporter specifically liked the new font:

New Font is 100% better. Older font looked outdated. Rest is debatable.

Another fan brushed off the few negative comments.

‘Look better and anyone crying needs a look in the mirror.’

This fan was just happy that the club didn’t make any major changes.

‘As long as it still feels like Chelsea, small changes like this are perfect.’

Another agreed that it was definitely an upgrade.

‘It definitely looks BETTER. I love it.’

Lastly, there was just a general happiness that the owners have done something right.

‘Finally, the owners make a good decision, this looks so, so clean.’

The history of the Chelsea badge

Chelsea’s iconic crest has undergone a fascinating evolution since the club’s founding in 1905, with the original emblem even featuring a Chelsea Pensioner, giving rise to the club’s early nickname.

In 1952, legendary manager Ted Drake modernised the identity, briefly introducing a simple “CFC” monogram before launching the definitive 1953 design. This version introduced the famous blue ceremonial lion rampant regardant holding a staff, inspired by the metropolitan borough’s coat of arms.

Aside from a simplified 1980s redesign, the classic 1953 lion was proudly restored for the club’s centenary in 2005, remaining the modern symbol of Chelsea’s heritage.
