Andreas Christensen delivered another near-faultless performance for Chelsea on Monday in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were amazed by one particular piece of one-on-one defending.
Christensen, who’s had his opportunity in the side due to Thiago Silva’s recent injury absence, has been in stunning form lately for the Blues.
The 24-year-old centre-back has been starting in the middle of a back three, with captain Cesar Azpilicueta on the right of him, and Kurt Zouma or Antonio Rudiger on his left.
He impressed against yesterday during Chelsea’s 2-0 home win against Everton in the Premier League.
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were keen to notice one excellent moment from Christensen in the latter stages of the first half.
The Danish centre-back made an excellent recovery run to catch up with Everton forward Richarlison, who was charging in on goal after Blues midfielder Mateo Kovacic gave the ball away.
The Chelsea star stayed on his feet superbly well jockeying the attacker, before eventually tackling the ball away from him and winning the vital one-on-one duel.
His Stamford Bridge career in the first team has been filled with highs and lows, but right now he’s looking extremely consistent and well suited under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
