Chelsea were reportedly one team who were interested in Nick Woltemade before his move to Newcastle United last summer.
The Blues never went for the 24-year-old in the end and went into this season with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap as their two main striker options.
However, it appears that Chelsea still have Woltemade on their radar ahead of the next transfer window.

Chelsea fans don’t want Nick Woltemade at club
It was recently claimed that Chelsea could make an enquiry to sign Woltemade in the summer.
The Chelsea Chronicle asked supporters on TalkingPoints whether that would be a transfer they would be open to. The responses were quite negative.
One Chelsea fan is just not impressed with Woltemade’s record this season. He said: “Only 7 goals in 26 games, not good enough.”
Another supporter said: “No, don’t bring him in, just sell Liam [Delap] and [Nicolas] Jackson. Have [Joao] Pedro and Emanuel Emegha up top.”
One TalkingPoints user also wrote: “Woltemade is not the answer”. Disagree? You can join the conversation by commenting below!
What are your thoughts on Nick Woltemade potentially replacing Liam Delap?
Right now, Woltemade is not the only Newcastle player who has been linked to Chelsea.
Chelsea could be set to conduct some sort of business with Newcastle this summer
It has been reported that Chelsea are considering enquiring about Woltemade because Newcastle have an interest in Delap and could make a move for him.
It means that even if Chelsea do not sign the Germany international, there could be at least one transaction between the two Premier League clubs ahead of the 2026/27 season.
There is also a possibility of Chelsea signing Sandro Tonali from the Magpies, though that will not be an easy deal.
It is thought that Tonali is already gathering information on a possible move to Chelsea and seeing whether it is an option or not. It could make a lot of sense for the Blues, especially if they go on to lose Enzo Fernandez, who has been linked to the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Tonali’s price tag could be a problem, though, amid speculation that Newcastle are ready to demand a £100m fee for the Italy international.
