Chelsea supporters plan to display a large banner at Stamford Bridge on Saturday in appreciation of one of the club’s most exciting academy graduates Mason Mount.
The 22-year-old has established himself as a key player at Chelsea since his breakthrough season in 2019/20 under Frank Lampard.
Despite his young age, he has arguably been one of the most consistent performers at the club as well, which led to his winning the club’s player of the year award last season.
As a homegrown academy product who is also a strong candidate for the future club captain role, it is easy to see why he has easily become a fan favourite.

Some fans seem to have decided to show their appreciation of the verstaile midfielder through a banner.
As Twitter user cfcuk Fanzine shared in a tweet, the banner is to be displayed in the Matthew Harding Stand during the Aston Villa game on Saturday afternoon.
“A 100ft by 50ft overhead banner in honour of Mason Mount, one of the best and brightest hopes for Chelsea’s future,” the account added.
The banner design features Mount with the UEFA Champions League trophy and reads “The boy who had a dream”.
The dream — likely refers to the Champions League-winning campaign last season — was a rather surprising success after their mid-season slumps, and Mount certainly played a big role in it, including a goal in the semi-finals and a key assist in the final.
