Chelsea fans will love what Marcos Alonso posted on Instagram after Barcelona defeated Tottenham on Tuesday night.

The Spaniard was playing against Spurs in the Joan Gamper Trophy – a yearly friendly held before Barcelona’s opening game in La Liga.

So, what did Marcos Alonso write about Tottenham? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the 32-year-old was often a thorn in Tottenham’s side, scoring three goals while also providing three assists in 21 appearances against the north Londoners.

Alonso has scored more goals against Spurs than any other side throughout his career.

Now, the Spain international has mocked Tottenham after Barcelona recorded a 4-2 win over Ange Postecoglou’s side on Tuesday night.

Alonso wrote “some things never change” on Instagram along with a yawning emoji, which you can see below.

Given the bitter rivalry between the Blues and Tottenham, Chelsea fans will surely love to see this.

Clearly – despite leaving Stamford Bridge in July 2022 – Alonso is still a Blue at heart.

Marcos Alonso and Tottenham have history from his Chelsea days

You may recall Tottenham fans booing Alonso pretty much every time he faced Spurs during his time at Chelsea.

The left-back has actually admitted that he loved being jeered by the Tottenham supporters during his time in west London.

Alonso told the Telegraph in 2021: “I love it! To be booed when you play away, it’s music to my ears.

“It might be because I have scored a few goals against them and I think they maybe have these memories in their head when I touch the ball, so yeah I love it and even more when we get the three points.”

Despite the fact Alonso’s time at Stamford Bridge ended over 12 months ago, he clearly still enjoys winding up Chelsea’s bitter rivals, something Blues fans will love to see.
