Joe Cole believes Frank Lampard’s big role in Chelsea’s transfer business has played a big role in the quick integration of their new signings.
We have all seen what Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech are capable of in the final third.
At the back, Edouard Mendy, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell have helped Chelsea transformed into somewhat of a fortress.
The fact that they have scored the joint-most (22) and conceded the second-fewest goals (10) in the Premier League suggests the Blues spent wisely in the summer transfer window.
They have also kept more clean-sheets (five) than any other team in the league after the heavy criticism on their defence last season.
Cole said Chelsea have given Lampard the final say on transfers and now they are reaping the rewards.

“The biggest thing is that the players who have come through the door are all Frank’s players,” Cole told the Evening Standard.
“If that trend continues, and he has the final say, Chelsea will continue to make the right choices. That is vital.
“You wouldn’t commission an artist to paint you a picture and then tell him what colours he’s got to use.

“He’s painting the picture — bringing in Mendy, Thiago Silva, Chilwell, Ziyech.
“They’ve all been good because they’ve all gone through the rigorous process of ‘Do they tick boxes as a Chelsea player, as a Frank Lampard player?’
“They do and that’s why they’ve all been successful.”
