Chelsea are currently sitting third in the Premier League table, and this is down to a number of individuals stepping up and performing at higher levels than before.

The likes of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson have picked up where they left off from in front of goal last season.

New signings have also made their mark on the squad, with Pedro Neto starring in the huge game against Arsenal before this international break.

Wesley Fofana also thinks his best performance of the season was against the Gunners, with him starting every game he has been available for under Enzo Maresca.

Perhaps the strongest performer this season though has been Moises Caicedo, who is finally getting the praise he has deserved for a number of years now.

Moises Caicedo has ‘no significant weaknesses’

Chelsea fans were wowed by Caicedo against Arsenal, however there is no doubt frustration that it has taken this long for him to be recognised as one of the better players in his position in the Premier League.

It may take some time for anyone to really name a weakness of the Ecuador international, and this is backed up by WhoScored’s analysis of the player.

They state that while he excels in passing, tackling and intercepting, he actually has ‘no significant weaknesses’ to report.

Enzo Fernandez vs Romeo Lavia for Chelsea

Caicedo is clearly one of the first names on the teamsheet at the moment, however there has been some debate over who should be in the role alongside him.

That has been Romeo Lavia in recent weeks in the Premier League, meaning former club-record signing Enzo Fernandez has dropped to the bench.

Maresca was impressed with Fernandez’s contribution off the bench against Arsenal, and he showed the Conference League was a step below him when he picked up three assists in 45 minutes against Noah.

The boss certainly has a midfield dilemma after the international break, however Caicedo is one person who will certainly be in action if fit.
