One key Chelsea player from last season is still looking for a new club, however the perfect opportunity may have cropped up as a result of his replacement at Stamford Bridge.

Jadon Sancho contributed a combined 15 goals and assists last season as he looked to rescue his Premier League career with a loan move at Stamford Bridge.

Despite there being an obligation for the Blues to sign the winger, they paid a small fee to get out of it and he returned to Manchester United, where he is out of the plans.

Reports came out that Sancho had not accepted Chelsea’s final salary offer, and therefore he has been left to look elsewhere to find regular first team football.

Borussia Dortmund considering move for former Chelsea star Jadon Sancho

The club he has achieved the most success with in the early stages of his career is Borussia Dortmund, with two positive spells there already under his belt.

He has been linked with a move again to the Bundesliga side, with journalist Patrick Berger stating that the deal is being discussed internally.

He said: “Borussia Dortmund is once again dealing with Jadon Sancho. The topic is still being discussed internally and is not entirely closed. Manchester United is said to be demanding around €18-20m.”

It was reported even when he was still at Chelsea that Sancho was very keen on a Dortmund return, and this would look on paper to be the best move for him at this stage of the career.

Chelsea have paved the way for Sancho to join Dortmund

The Bundesliga side are looking for a new attacker after they parted ways with one of their most promising talents earlier this summer.

Jamie Gittens finally made his long-awaited move to Stamford Bridge for £51m during the Club World Cup, and he will be looking forward to when the Chelsea players return to training on August 4 to make an impression on Enzo Maresca.

The pair both play on the left wing, however new Dortmund manager Niko Kovac’s requirements of an attacker suit Sancho’s game far better than Gittens’.

Despite only just moving to Chelsea, there may be immediate competition for the youngster’s place in the side. The Blues are still being strongly linked with moves for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.
