Chelsea have made it a big part of their project to beat some of Europe’s elite sides to signing the top prospects in football.

Todd Boehly and co have invested a lot of money in players who have not even played at Stamford Bridge yet.

The highlight addition up to now has been Estevao Willian, who already has a senior appearance under his belt for Brazil.

Kendry Paez is also a regular for his country, with the duo set to join the first team at the end of this season.

It looks as if they are considering adding another young option to their backline now, with them being linked to the signing of Estevao’s club teammate Vitor Reis.

Chelsea want £83m Vitor Reis

According to The Athletic, the Blues are one of the top side’s who are interested in signing the player whose release clause sits in the region of £83m.

The report goes on to say that Arsenal are one of the clubs who are intrigued by the idea of signing the defender, as well as Real Madrid, Liverpool and Barcelona.

Chelsea have already invested in the future of their defence with the signing of Aaron Anselmino, who is a regular for Boca Juniors in Argentina.

Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana performing well

There is already a lot of faith in the centre-backs the Blues currently have, with Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill starting every single Premier League game together this season.

Many have just been relieved to see the Frenchman playing regular football again. He didn’t play a single minute last season after a serious knee injury he suffered before the campaign began.

Colwill is picking up plenty of praise this season, and he seems to put his strong performances down to the impact new manager Enzo Maresca has had on his game.

The Italian is off to a really strong start as Chelsea boss, and added his first Premier League win at Stamford Bridge to his resume against Brighton at the weekend.
